However… if I were you, I would grab a camera and start filming some friends instead.

He would still have to respect their privacy and their personality rights (especially the right of personal portrayal). Broadcasting a video containing the image of somebody without her/his prior consent is illegal in lots of country (France, Spain, USA, Switzerland, …) but there are some exceptions to protect the right to inform.
