I am using Android studio. I ported the terrain from SDK by making it and saving it as a scene in a folder. The loaded the scene with asset manager. I want to ask if I can use the terrain tool and Scene composer outside SDK. Just a silly question. I’m new to android studio and working First time outside jme SDK.
in my times i used jme for android. it was interesting. but i didn’t understand how to get multiple clicks with touchpad through jme. some simple ported game supported only one click at a time. And the speed, fps, was low level. so, success in it.
The short answer is “No”.
The terrain tool and scenecomposer are modules of the SDK project, depend on the “Core” module and are probably not easy to use outside of the SDK. If the purpose is to use them in android studio, the answer is “definitely no”, since they are based on the Netbeans framework.
@rickard thanks. Understood
When you used it ? Year ? And jme version. I will test performance
Lemur handles this quite well. It’s really cool to drag multiple sliders independently with different fingers. (Assuming that’s what you mean.)
…so anyone trying to do this outside of a UI could take a look how that code does it.
it was a long time ago. that code is lost. it was about a droid. I would just like to show that jme is a serious engine on which you can do good things.
@cybersergey
so, now it is improved and better than before or is it same. (in Android case) ?
In PC case I am playing Rising world (made with JME) which is good in performance !!
your work looking good
I believe they switched to Unity several years ago.
yes because at that time there was no gltf support and many other features. so, that what I say. SDK needs to be upgraded more. so, people can use it like easy engines. I will try to contribute. lets see !!
You can contribute a lot by just using the SDK, reporting bugs and bringing up feature requests.
thanks. I will
