This is the project NCSoft were working on with jME, the creators of jME2 (Josh and Rikard) were actually working on it until the whole thing was cancelled.

I thought they were full time working on NCsoft? What are they doing right now?

Most importantly, any idea why they hired and then canceled the whole thing!

Yes they were. Many of the things they did for NCSoft (like collada importer) were contributed to jME back.

Because sometimes companies cancel projects, it happens when they lose faith or there's unforeseen problems, etc etc etc.

No, they are working on Ardor3D now (last time I checked).
