Particle system responding to animated movement of a mesh object

This is my first reply/post…I have a question about particle systems …
This is the short version…
I want to know if it’s possible and practical to do this in jMonkeyEngine … Create a particle system that will respond to the bottom of an animated human foot (I have created a rigged and skinned foot in Blender)…the idea being to simulate and display a footprint as it is being made by the human foot…with the particle system behaving as much like a real substrate as possible.
