Hey, cool. Somebody started adding some polish translations as well, using _pl as a suffix for the wiki pages. If you want you can store them inour “official” wiki as well like that.
Ok normen I will do that. Just I will put in my wiki and after that I will put in the JME official Wiki. I am forecasting that I translate the 13 tutorials up to mid of january, but I don’t make any promise.
I got it. I thought it was strange because I already had imaginated that if I try to access a wiki page that doesn’t exist I could create it, but when I do that the message mentions a button supposed to exist called create new page. In this moment I didn’t think to click on option edit page to create the page. It very much counterintuitive.
But, OK. Another moment I will put the contents that I already have translated.

Not meaning to hijack a thread, but how does one get access to create wiki pages? I’d love to put up some proper documentation for the plugin I have been working on. The thread didn’t quite work out.

You already have editing privileges for the wiki. See the black top menu bar on this page?

Nm.. used the Edit option under Wiki dropdown and all is well.. Thank you =)
We just like making it really confusing so we can feel smarter than everyone, mwuahahaha! Tell you what, next time someone's confused about how the wiki works, you can have dibs. It feels great.
Regarding the Portuguese translation of the first tutorial (which has been translated very well, by the way), how does one get to that wiki page via the main DOCUMENTATION link? I’ve had a look around and couldn’t seem to get to it via links on the documentation page. Is there an obvious link that I can’t see? If there isn’t one, I think it might be a good idea to have a link on the main DOCUMENTATION page for translated docs.
I am a native English speaker ( from New Zealand ) and have been living in Brazil for the last 25 years, so I could also help out a bit with translation. I don’t think I’d be up to all that fancy HTML formatting of the webpage, but I could help the current translator with translated text or something.
Wiki formatting is really easy - especially when translating where you can just leave the formatting marks in place and translate the text.
How to link/show the translated pages is something that’s been discussed a bit but I don’t think any real decision has been made yet.
The simplest might just be on the tutorials page to have a link at the top saying “translated versions are available” linking to a page that lists all the languages…then the language links go to a translation of the main page and then all the sub-tutorials are linked from that.
This does open up an ongoing maintenance issue though. As the english pages are updated/fixed/etc how do the translated pages also get updated?
@zathras if you could just go ahead and make an executive decision here we’ll get this show on the road. I’m swamped right now, but I’ll go through with the “translated versions are available” notice somewhere if nothing happens in a while. It’s a decent start with very little investment.
